Bandage to Splintage |

“Are we doing the ethical thing by bandaging soft tissue injuries?” We introduced the new concept of ‘Bandage to Splintage’. Bandages are used to treat superficial bruises, cuts, puncture wounds, stings and bites. When such bandages are used for ligament and tendon injuries, they cause additional damage and deformity and severely hinder the healing process. Splints are specifically designed to limit harmful and dangerous movement and provide rest – something that is required for rapid healing of damaged tissues. Additionally, they align the joints and ligaments for successful healing. This provides a one-time solution to the injury, with no residual problem such as joint pain, clicking sounds, limitation of movements and so on, as seen with bandages. |
