Every turbulence, whether natural or triggered by human action, affects individuals in three dimensions–Psychological-affecting the individual’s thought process, Physical-destroying or weakening the individual physically, and Social-affecting the individual’s interactions with family, friends, and society. The physical impact of the Great Turbulences is visible and apparent. The media magnification of the physical impact of a disaster results in extensive awareness and elicits large-scale social response. However, the potent psychological and social currents & countercurrents remain invisible and unaddressed and can become the cause for a greater turbulence.
